These are a few of our current and past programs. Since 2012, MYC education had helped transform the lives of more than 2,000 community members and professionals. The pandemic forced us to pivot to creating culturally appropriate social messaging to inform about COVID-19 and advocate about the vaccine. During this period, we've reached over 338,000 with our community-oriented messages and graphics.

64 Days of Behavioral Health
ButtonSeventeen clinicians answered the call to serve the community by identifying a critical topic creating a presentation, and delivering classes. Over 450 persons learned about topics ranging from Dysfunctional Families to Online Cyber Safety for Teens to OCD to Anger Management. 2016 - Present

Vicarious Trauma
ButtonVicarious trauma is like second-hand smoke ... it impacts professionals and caregivers who are exposed--on a daily basis--to the suffering of others. We invited Jerry Tello, a nationally-recognized clinician, to provide health care professionals, students as well as legal professionals with some coping techniques for their workplace stress.

Shock Nerves and Shame
ButtonMYC Institute brings a deep understanding of cultural issues to every session designed. This image is from the notes on a panel presentation to over 100 Mexican American women. Six Clinicians and one Indigenous Healer shared their expertise and wisdom with the audience of women of all ages and many backgrounds.

Patient Transfer
ButtonMYC called on Physical Therapists to take the lead in designing and presenting this workshop on the safe transfer of patients. A simulation lab created common transfer challenges and participants were able to confer with PTs about their individual situations. This session was held in El Paso and Las Cruces New Mexico.

Human Trafficking
ButtonUnfortunately, El Paso is the site of very serious human trafficking activity. We collaborated with the FBI, Department of Labor Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, the El Paso Community Supervision & Corrections Department, UTEP and the Center of Hope to put together a half-day workshop to educate healthcare professionals on how to identify and help victims of trafficking. 2014

Improving Care for Veterans
ButtonThe American Academy of Nursing developed a program to assist health care professionals assess diagnose and treat veterans. MYC Institute collaborated with the Veterans Administration to bring the training to El Paso. 2014
