WHO WE ARE

Our
Mission      & Values

  • Our mission is to provide culturally-appropriate education to advance literacy in integrative health for diverse populations through prevention, outreach, practice and professional development.
  • We work to create  innovative culturally-appropriate education which removes stigma regarding behavioral health by informing healthcare professionals, public servants, policymakers and the public about the positive impact of integrating primary care and behavioral health.
  • Our values adhere to the utmost standards of integrity and dedication to improving the quality of life for communities.
  • We value trustful communications, generosity in sharing information and collaborating to meet our mission, and are committed to advancing equity, inclusion and diversity in all interactions, communications, and events.

Before we incorporated in 2018, we were a citizen’s healthcare advisory group convened by a Texas state senator. We are healthcare professionals and executives, as well as representatives from community organizations, health agencies, and members of the public. In our work, we acknowledged and discussed the need for a forum where the integration of behavioral health with primary care could be shared, discussed and disseminated in order to advance knowledge of integrated care. Points of emphasis would include interprofessional teamwork, solution-oriented sessions, cultural fluency, and timely content.  Since our start as an advisory group, we have designed and delivered over 200 education sessions on body mind health which have reached over 2,000 persons.
