MYC Institute of Integrative Health
We create culturally-appropriate social media messaging for vulnerable populations in El Paso, the border, and, similar communities. Our EIN: 82-5147217
Our Focus
Helping our community means educating about COVID-19 and vaccine awareness. We create social media messaging that leverages our cultural strengths to help keep vulnerable families safe. We partner with Community Health Workers (promotoras/es) who call and send texts to get our messages into households. Behavioral Health continues to be central in every message we design.
Culturally-Competent Health Education
Guided by a clinical director who designs integrative health into every session, we work with Clinicians and Experts who understand how to connect with audiences from many cultures. Since the nation's first lockdown in March 2020, MYC has pivoted to social media as a means of mass dissemination of educational public health content.
BodyMindHealth for the Community & Professionals
Basic health care that many of us take for granted is very hard for many El Pasoans. Our work links individuals and families to existing resources in the public health system. Due to the pandemic, we work through Community Health Workers (CHW) who are certified, have the language skills and in-depth knowledge of the communities to be effective communicators.
Social Messaging via Community Health Workers
We work with Familias Triunfadores, an El Paso nonprofit, to carry out a strategy where Community Health Workers (CHWs) call and text consumers with links to specific videos. This strategy helps CHWs support their families and gets our messages seen and heard.
